Things I Love....

#1. BRIDGER....(my cute little brother) who just turned 8 while they were in Hawaii. He had his pictures taken for his Baptism coming up, and they turned out so great! I think he is the cutest thing ever!
#2. BABY SHOWER'S...... My Mom and Grammy had the most wonderful Baby Shower for me. I got such fun gifts that I can't wait to use! I really enjoyed seeing my awesome family and friends! A huge thanks to all who made it!

#3. Bare Escentuals SKIN REV-ER UPPER! This little bottle of Heaven rejuvenates your skin & complexion. This has made my skin look so much better, and gives you the perfect amount of moisture. You must try.... (sold at Sephora)

#4. The Ellen Degeneres Show..... So funny! I love to watch this show. Thank heavens for DVR, or I would never get to see it. I find myself laughing outloud while watching this show alone!

#5. Being off bedrest! I have had the most wonderful week, getting off my medication, and being able to get out and about. I haven't been anywhere since Christmas!! I took for granted being able to do a lot of things my self, like.....driving, working, shopping, lifting, and walking! I am so thankful that this little guy stuck it out with me for the last 7 weeks. The Doctor's and I can't believe that we made it this far! I feel so blessed to have such a great husband, mother, and family to take care of me.

#6. Who could forget Dal..... Love you babe!

I am so excited for this baby to come! Stay tuned.......next post should have some exciting news!

Valentine's Sugar Cookie's:

I love Valentine's Day! I had so much fun decorating sugar cookies. I used the extra dough I had and decided to make a sugar cookie bouquet! It was a fun project. I love any soft cookie, and these sugar cookies are so wonderfully soft, and stay that way for almost a week. They are super easy to make, so I thought I would share my favorite Valentine's recipe with you all! It is my great Grandma's, and we have made these cookies year round ever since I was a little girl. Give it a try!

Grandma’s Sugar Cookies:
-2 Eggs
-1 c sugar
-1/2 c shortening
-1 tsp. vanilla
-2 tsp. baking powder
-1 tsp. baking soda
-1/4 tsp. salt
-3 ½ c flour
- ½ c milk
-Blend ingredients and roll out cookie dough with rolling pin.
-Cut with cookie cutter into your favorite shapes, place on
greased cookie sheet, and sprinkle w/ sugar.
-Bake @ 375° for 10 minutes.
-Makes about 2 dozen.

Frosting:
-Melt ½ cube butter in 1 cup milk.
-Stir in 1 lb. powdered sugar to
consistency you like for frosting.
-Add 1 tsp. vanilla and mix together.
-Add food coloring of your choice.

My Tips:
Spread flour out on the cutting board, or counter before you roll out the dough. Don't roll out the dough to thin. With the frosting, it is so easy. Don't add in all of the powdered sugar at once. Keep adding until you get to the consistency you like for frosting. When you frost the cookie, it works awesome to turn in upside down, dip it in the frosting, swirl around, and set on pan (it's a lot faster.)

Enjoy!

WAY TO GO DAL!!

Dallin has been gone to Las Vegas since Monday for a Architecture Competition at the Ceasar's Palace, and the Las Vegas Convention Center. They presented their project on Tuesday Morning, and the awards ceremony was last night. They won 1st Place!! He was also awarded the distinguished student award. I wish I could have been there with you like we planned:(. I am so proud of him. He had 24 credits last semester, got a 4.0, was the Captain of his Competition Team, and still a great husband! Oh, and a BIG thanks to Camille for taking him around Vegas, letting him stay at her house for a night, and helping him at Sephora ;)! Love ya Dal! Can't wait for you to get home!

A Cabin Christmas....

Here are some pictures of our wonderful Christmas vacation at our Cabin in Island Park. Christmas morning/Christmas P.J's..... always a little scary for pictures! The classic Broulim Christmas Eve Nativity. Everyone thought it was pretty funny because I kind of looked the part of Mary this year ;)
We had so much fun playing Bridger's WII, Guitar Hero/Rock Band, and had some awesome tennis tournaments! We were snowed in at the cabin for 3 days! We got 4 feet of snow in 24 hours one of the days. The snow was up to Dal's chest!

Dal loved riding the snowmachines with my Dad and the boys, and going on rescue missions to save family members traveling to the cabin. We had a great Christmas and got some really fun stuff! Happy 2009 to all!

I ran across this picture on the internet, and it made me laugh. I had a really crazy last week, so I kind of felt like it fit! I worked so many hours this week, finished Christmas shopping, Dal got through his finals, and we have had so many activities, appointments, and things to get to. I have always loved getting into the Christmas Season and Spirit, so this year I need to find the energy to GLOW!! haha. I am excited for all of the fun Christmas Parties and get-togethers that come with this time of year. Only 11 days til' Christmas!
